Buffalo Nas WXL TS-XL No display Output

Hi,
I just try to get my old NAS running again, after a rather old debian install was gone due to a hdd fault.

With debian bookworm I don't get the display running any more - I get only a green background light, LAN1 + LAN2 are separate LEDs which work and thats about it.

I tried several example*.py and buttons also seem to work, but no display :-(

How could I debug further?

The LCD misbehaving can sometimes be resolved by unplugging the device for a while.

Hmm... okay, I'll try that first.

But just to be clear: which example should directly display something on the LCD?

Power off for a couple of hours didn't change anything. Display gets green wgen booting, but other than that no output whatsoever...
Or is it a contrast thing? can contrast be adjusted as well?

I think there is a brightness value you can set, though I would think on reset the device would also be doing that.

Looks like I've got some functions for setting it in libmicon too:
