Autostart and how to attach AxelChat as an OBS dock
The article is relevant for AxelChat 0.37.14 and OBS 30.2.3
With OBS dock you can embed Axelchat directly into the OBS window. For, example (messages blurred for privacy purposes):
Instruction
In the Settings, in the Widgets section, copy the link of the widget you need (for example, Messages)
In the main menu, select Docks->Custom Browser Docks...
In the window that opens, in the table in the Dock Name column, enter the window name (for example, AxelChat)
In the URL column, paste the link to the widget and click Apply
This is what the AxelChat dock looks like (messages blurred for privacy purposes):
For convenience, the dock panel can be attached to one of the edges. Simply drag the window with the mouse to one of the edges:
Now in the Dock menu you can quickly hide and show AxelChat dock panel:
Now you can hide the AxelChat window (not the dock in OBS) by left-clicking on the AxelChat icon in the system tray or by right-clicking on icon to open the menu and selecting Hide to tray. You can make the AxelChat window visible (not a dock in OBS) in the same way
Autostart
Also, for convenience, you can make it so that the AxelChat is always available in OBS and you don’t have to launch the chat manually every time. To do this, enable Autostart AxelChat at system startup and Run minimized to tray. In System Startup Settings also make sure that autostart for AxelChat is enabled
Thus, AxelChat will automatically start immediately when you turn on your PC and when you turn on OBS, the AxelChat dock will be immediately available and a separate AxelChat window (not the OBS dock) will not interfere
