Purpose (example) of USBHidTerminal

At first I thought it is possible with USBHidTerminal to use my Nexus 7 (with OTG Adapter) as keyboard for my pc.
But the description say "data to your USB HID devices". Could you give me an example for that purpose?

I made an Android app by modifying this source code for configuring the Shure MVX2U microphone adapter (as it currently only includes PC/Mac software for setting it up). It is an audio interface that is configured via its USB port using HID packets. The adapter itself sends and receives 64-byte packets using the configuration endpoint.

It might be possible to use the phone to connect to your PC, but then you'd be responsible for creating the packet format, making a UI, connecting to the PC, etc.

This on its own is an excellent debugging tool for anything you own that uses HID as well as a clear example of how to configure Android in host mode to control some arbitrary/nonstandard device that is not part of the Android kernel (which would include keyboards and mice).

With all that in mind, you can program a microcontroller using a vendor-provided demo (such as FreeRTOS USB HID middleware for any number of Arm Cortex-M CPUs). Until Android changes its security model, source code like this and WebHID via Chrome would be the only two ways I know of controlling that microcontroller using USB.
