Unable to join from Oculus

Well I tried again:
I am unable to join from an Oculus client. I just get "Steam not detected. Please restart the game with Steam running" and while I can click on "connect to IP" once, if I exit the menu and enter it again or cancel the first connection and try again its not clickable (gray):

Even that first connection doesnt work: I can input everything and click on "connect", but its stuck on "Attempt 1" and netcat (on both server and client) shows no packages beeing send

oh also same thing: When the game is launched and doesnt recognize steam for any other reason (eg weird proton bugs) the same thing happens

those are the logs, "host" is steam, "client" is oculus

note: I didnt have a friend ready, so I just used 0.0.0.0 (and misstyped it once), but if that causes problems: the same thing happens with annother server, even if a steam client can join via ip

it also seems like steam is stupid and starts the Oculus instance instead...

So I tried to join my friends (Who are not in VR) via Steam VR and it didn't work (Meta Quest 3). Unfortunately, I don't remember what error message I got.
