Homey slow to see presence

I am using presence sensor (BLE) as a trigger. It is taking about 2min after the sensor light flashes before Homey recognizes the presence and triggers the Flow. The status change is almost immediate in the switchbot Android app. Would it work quicker if I bought the switchbot hub rather then connecting directly to Homey via BLE?

It probably would be quicker. Homey's BLE implementation is not great and requires polling. The problem is it takes about 15 to 30 seconds for the request to return, depending on the Homey model. Also, Homey is not very sensitive, so often the request returns empty data.
When using the hub, the data is pushed via a webhook and generally takes around 4 to 6 seconds, although that can occasionally be delayed for longer.

If you are fairly technically minded, I have created some code that runs on an ESP32. That use BLE to listen for the devices and pushes changes directly to Homey. I have adapted the Homey app so it uses the normal BLE drivers but is aware of the ESP32 information. This method allows Homey to respond almost instantly when a state changes, although I have noticed the presence sensors take a couple of seconds to respond.
