Another idea: Include an agent that maps citations and verifies whether they actually support the claims being made in the paper and checking if they are accurately represented (including limitations and strengths) + identify retracted papers, and flag citations from predatory journals

This would be particularly valuable for evaluating papers during literature reviews and journal clubs, where one need to quickly assess citation quality but may lack detailed knowledge of every referenced source. While authors typically manage their own references well, this tool would help identify problematic citations in other papers and improve overall research quality assessment
