Suggestion: enable "Start with helpful items" by default and maybe disable itemlosing/bones by default

This would make the game and finding out things, more fun because you won't loose all of your progress

And not everyone is aware of the settings

Alternatives

Mention that those settings exist, maybe in the death screen

and maybe make the tutorial map more obvious
