Previously, whenever a feature would add upon another feature, we would merge the two in order to preserve space on the sheet, typically hidding the sheet description of the "upgrade feature" and adding that upgade into original feature through additional sheet description (with appropriate level property). But we also now have Replacement Grants which are made as way for homebrewers to easily remove existing features. Problem is that if we merge the "upgrade feature" into original, now removing that "upgrade feature" itself doesn't affect the original feature that still gets the upgade through its own sheet description.
The ideal way to deal with this issue is:
We split the features allowing for individual removal, but then also create new element(s) that act as a combination of the two (or more) features, that when they are granted also hide the individual features from the sheet. See: Animal and Nature Speaker element in the Wild Heart Barbarian (PHB24) for details.
