"Best" certainly needs to be clarified :D

https://jonathanolson.net/experiments/optimal-wordle-solutions is (barring any bugs) the "best" word today, curious what helps the most for us humans when we can't use an optimizer for more than the first guess?

Is getting the most number of letters the most helpful? Or is it reducing the buckets of words the you need to search through? Seems like the later!
