Description
The docs repository contains a LICENSE statement ('unlicense') that is not meant for creative content, i.e. text, but for software code. Legally a very different thing! Also, no License statement is found on the website, which means in practice that all content found on the website (not in the repository) is protected by copyright law and no one, not even the authors, would be allowed to re-use or copy it.
I suggest to publish the docs under Creative Commons International 4.0 Attribution License, which would allow anyone to copy and reuse content, even for commercial purpose, as long as the authorship is acknowledged. This increases visibility and possibilities of distribution (e.g. for teaching purposes) of the Field Guide and encourages more researchers to contribute.
Find a summary of that topic on my blog.
This also has to be stated in the footer of the Field Guide website.
