[BUG] Use on fbterm causes gray background

So basically i went through all the trouble to install fbterm then ended up with a grey background with cyan text and missing text as soon as i ran "outside"

outside uses cursive which uses crossterm as a backend.

I looked at the fbterm setup page, and yes, it does look like quite the bother, so I don't think I'd even be able to replicate the problem.
