improved UX when refreshing a token

I just renewed my token, which worked, but UX could have been better

expected behaviour
1. when hitting the refresh token button, i expected the token to change, and for the functionality of the website to be instantly restored.
2. instead i had to exit the token modal, and then refresh the website
3. when visiting the sign in dialog, i could now see that the token had updated
