About the part of delphes in CheckMATE

hi,
I'm a user of checkmate and I use it to analysis a new physical model.
But I have some questions about the delphes,we have a new model in which we have some new particles.
I want to know how checkmate to discriminate these new particles? if these new particles cannot decay.
In another word, if dark matter in our model, how checkmate know whether it is dark matter or the new particles mentioned above?

For new invisible particles, you can set the InvisiblePIDs in the settings file. See "bin/example_run_cards/all_parameters_explained.dat" for more details.

If there are other new particles, right now we don't have a standardised way of setting their properties. If you're using one of the LLP analyses, you can similarly set 'llpPIDs' and run the analysis which should then be able to use the ID you set.

In our model the new particle is a dark matter particle, how CheckMATE or delphes know the new particle is dark matter?

I installed checkMATE successfully, but last week when I run it terminal show

Checkmate does not care whether the particle is dark matter, only whether or not it can be seen in the detector. You set this using invisiblePIDs. All unknown stable particles will be treated as visible in calorimeter and contribute to MET and jets. We expect the user to be a physicist who knows what they want. If needed, the user should then modify the Delphes card to include the behaviour of their new particle. Since it is impossible for us to anticipate all new models that are out there, this cannot be done on our side.

This seeems specific to your environment. A Google search tells me this might happen if your ROOT installation is faulty.

The issue is known (as seen in ticket #22) but it seems they haven't fixed it yet. Maybe you can use an older version of CheckMATE if you need to run an 8 TeV analysis.
