Github Copilot provider

A Github Copilot license provides access to many models (GPT, Gemini, Opus ...). It connects via the device flow. Would it be possible to have this flow in cloudllm ?

Let me know if I understand what I think you are asking:

You’d like cloudllm to support GitHub OAuth device flow so a CLI user can sign in with their GitHub account, instead of manually providing separate provider API keys, and then use GitHub as the backend for the models your Copilot / GitHub plan gives access to?

If so the request is really two parts:

• add a GitHub device-code login flow in cloudllm
• add a GitHub-backed model provider so cloudllm can route requests through GitHub’s model API

If that’s your intent, then yes, conceptually it sounds possible.

The main question is whether the token obtained through device flow has the right permissions for GitHub’s model endpoints, or whether GitHub Models still requires a PAT / different auth path in practice.

So the feature is plausible, I think, but it needs validation against GitHub’s API/auth rules, not just the OAuth docs.

I already did some tests, hand-rolling your own Github device flow works but doesn't give you access to all models - I guess GH also does some whitelisting of client IDs. For example OpenCode's client ID is whilelisted (although public) and has access to all models.
