When you click on the month changing button really fast events go whack

Specifically, if you click on the button in production a bunch of requests are made to get the events for the month. Since this occurs asynchronously eventually the month you end up loads all the events from the pending GET requests. Can be fixed by having a cancel function on month change? It's already cached as part of the frontend API so caching isn't a big deal.
