No "select file" dialog after "FTL Not Found" not found alert

I'm running v10 on a Mac (10.8.2) with latest Java updates. Im using Steam version of FTL.

After the “FTL Not Found" alert is displayed, it is implied a "select file" dialog will be displayed to allow me to manuallu point the Editor to my FTL files. Nothing happens however.

I'm having this same issue, but it looks like we're just out of luck.
