On android scrypt function is blocking

As title says, even if i call scrypt function with await, UI freezes for a few seconds and the spinner does not appear(i set the <ActivityIndicator/> visible the line before calling scrypt and set it to false the line after, standard async procedure)

InteractionManager.runAfterInteractions(async () => {
      // run async function here...
    });
    

it will prevent any kind of scrren freezing
