I really love the auto - extend /expansion option, which is configurable per-app, and I'm mostly using it for my messaging apps, for almost every one of them.
What I've noticed tho, is that the expanded form of the "island" is perfectly fine when appears in portrait orientation - it's readable and useful; but when sometimes I'm trying to watch a video, a picture maybe, then it's a bit distracting, because of the space it takes away, when you're trying to focus - in a landscape orientation.
Describe the solution you'd like
Solving this "distraction" should be simple (for me at least), and easy to implement.
My solution would be a simple, I'd call it "Less in Landscape"':) Pretty self explanatory, if you turn this on, it should check if you're in landscape, and if the answer is yes, it blocks the auto expansion function, regardless if it's turned on globally or specifically. Kind of an override method, so things won't pop up when you already have a smaller space.
I would really appreciate this switch option inside the global settings, (Island behavior -> below the Auto-hide option for example), and also one to appear for each application (same place, but inside the per-app settings) - following the idea of the whole app.
Describe alternatives you've considered
I think this option should cover the whole purpose of it's existence, so no need to look for alternatives.
Additional context
Just an additional simple switch, following the theme of the app - nothing special.
ps.: I believe you've made my whole week when I discovered this app, about half a year ago. Really appreciate you man, love your work, and keep it up!
