why hyperisland uses some custom icons instead of icons of the app that actually sends the notification, which leads to hyperisland being absolutely blank in some cases.

Maybe it would be better to borrow icons of the app sending the notification instead?

Right now Hyper Bridge uses the information of the original notification to display the icon of the left side of the island.

If a notification uses a image or vector where the content is black it would appear as there's no icon being displayed.

Right now, the island doesn't support different light modes like featured notifications.

In Hyper Bridge 0.5.0 you will be able to select if you want to use the original notification icon, or the app icon to be displayed on the island.
