stripchat.py -> downloaded video files can't be opened anymore

Hello, thanks for sharing this excellent scripts and keeping them alive.

Since Tuesday, March 21th at arround 3 PM (GMT), all downloaded video files from stripchat cannot be opened anymore, not in VLC or MPC.
The download itself seems to work fine with the script and also the file size is normal depending on the length of the recording.

Did anyone find a way to fix this issue or to play the "broken" video files?

I'm experiencing the same issue. It looks perfectly fine when downloading, the time starts counting up and the filesize is increasing.

I have not found a solution to this.

You're downloading a "doomie" file not the actual stream recording - this is stripchat's latest update along with few other annoying features.

I pulled the m3u8 from an active stripchat page

IF you have FFMPEG..... and MPV
Stripchat uses the same uniquie M3U8 URL for each page.

hope this will tide everyone over for the moment ;)
a quick rework of something i already use, quickly tweaked to work with FFMPEG

EDIT: script should now be fully changed over to FFMPEG

Please advise on how to update the BAT file to make it run.

Hi @justcallmejc , I was using your great idea with FFMPEG until now, but Strip changed again something. "doppiocdn.com" became "doppiocdn.net" but this also not works (HTTP error 403 Forbidden) and I couldn't find a solution.

Hi @odnar-dev , your more elegant way with the plugin seems to need an update too after that recent site change.

Just as @lordofhoard discovered there has been a bunch of changes to the stream sources.

I did notice a change about a month ago as well in terms of the source links for ticket shows and private shows adding some sort of
"pkey" to the stream. They now seem to have implemented that pkey for the regular public broadcasts as well now.

Historically you have been able to play back the source stream in VLC with the standard.

None of these seem to open natively in VLC which makes me belive that there are some encryption or "hand shake" going on between the browser and source... an extra layer of security which needs a smarter script to circumvent the issue.
Sadly, this is where my very limited programming knowledge ends.
