portals hostname not resolving

I noticed, that if I create a portal with a hostname, it does not resolve to the correct ip.

cd ../portals
create iscsi1.local 3260
create iscsi3.local 3260

tcp 0 0 127.234.0.0:3260 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN - ?????
tcp 0 0 115.234.0.0:3260 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN - ????

targetcli-2.1.fb41-3.el7.noarch
CentOS Linux release 7.3.1611 (Core)

Same behavior with targetcli version 2.1.fb46 on CentOS Linux release 7.4.1708 (Core)
