Default field values are not applied when polygon is closed

Normal polygon creation using a mouse ends when the polygon is closed by a right mouse click. With this plugin the polygon is closed when the mouse button is released or in my case, a Wacom pen, is lifted from the tablet.

Default values are set in the properties of the vector layer to be appied on update. However the default values for fields are not applied when creating a polygon using this plugin. Should be reproduceable.

Screen shots are attached showing that:

1. default values are set for the layer
2. The confirmation popup on polygon close using the plugin - no default field value applied
3. The confirmation popup on polygon close using QGIS 'Add Polygon Feature' - default field values are applied as they should

By the example above you can see that the plugin does not apply default values when the polygon is closed.
