How to play with friends?

Do all of your friends need to have this installed and lock at the same time to stay in the locked session together? I tried locking a session with just one other person in it and they got kicked.

As an update, I had a friend download this and lock the session at the same time as me but he was still kicked from the session after about a minute. Anyone know where in the code I could try changing things to keep friends in the locked session?

I don't think this has been updated to work with the recent gta updates
