After refreshing the page, clicking the mouse side button navigates back to a blank page

After refreshing the page, clicking the mouse side (back) button causes the browser to navigate back to a blank page.
If the page is not refreshed, the back navigation is correctly blocked and works as expected.

It's a side effect of #541.
During the rework, I tried to first navigate to about:blank and then navigating back which would avoid this behavior, but it didn't work, so I gave up on that.
Maybe we could just clear the navigation history here as a simple workaround?
