Difficulty navigating the dataset without proper labels #1

Hello, I was looking to download temperature data from the dataset but it is very difficult to navigate around the site without knowing anything about the data. I was eventually able to figure out a great deal by reading this paper: https://essd.copernicus.org/preprints/essd-2022-212/essd-2022-212.pdf but I think it'd still confuse a lot of people.
I suggest documentation be added explaining the dataset somewhere. Either on the website or in the database itself.
It is easy to navigate until this point but symbols and file names are confusing.
