The issue here is with the player gel detection, it looks for MASK_SOLID_BRUSHONLY because Alien Swarm lacks CONTENTS_BRUSH_PAINT, so that specific ramp doesn't work for paint.

I was wrong when I explained that, it's actually because the GetAllBrushesInAABB isn't the same in Alien Swarm.
