Several bugs found - is this working code?

I have found several problems such as case sensitivity in the Auth or auth directory, missing maedtype variable in the adduser form, language selection variable not working in the adduser form, etc.

Before I continue debugging I am wondering if this was ever working code, or just a project that got started but not got to work. Can anyone enlighten me?
