SSL handshake failed during single address search

Log:

Happens on Windows with QGIS 3.40

Additional context:
The processing algorithm worked fine, which uses urllib to make the request whereas the single address search uses QNetworkRequest.

I couldn't reproduce, QGIS version info below. The evidence so far would IMO point at the problem being somewhere outside this plugin, possibly in Qt or some deeper SSL system library. Or maybe in the interaction between those and the server, looking at test results on https://www.ssllabs.com/ hints at some protocol settings being less than perfect.
