Description
Tool description
This tool would provide access not only to built-in mineral system configurations (e.g., IOCG available at the moment) and self-custom configurations as in the current version of the wizard, but also to configurations set up by other users happy to share them with a description and a log file for the rest of the community to use them and provide reviews. Such a shared plateform would enhance collaborative work between users towards the implementation and tweaking of configurations until they are validated by the EIS team and integrated as a built-in configurations in the wizard.
Justification and importance
It is essential as it would endeavour collaborative work and sharing of ideas and best practices for mineral system implementation, which would be highly beneficial. The user-based review of these configuration, and bug/error reporting, similar to what exists for the wizard itself or any QGIS plugin in the QGIS-embedded repository, would be a great tool to enhance and facilitate distribution and updating of configurations.
Tool category and type
I would propose a new tool category: Mineral System Sharing.
Implementation details
The tool takes as input a list of configurations uploaded by users, stored in a GitHub folder or similar, made available for other users to test and review, until satisfying criteria TBD and being upgraded as built-in mineral system configurations.
Who will implement the tool?
Whoever is keen to promote such collaborative work :)
