I spent two days debugging this problem with the constant existence of git lock in Claude Code. It was impossible to work with. Almost every command it executed was an error. I found that this status line was doing it. I'm going to remove this status line. Now I have no problems with git lock. I just wanted to let you know. I won't go into it anymore.

I just pushed PR #47 that should solve the issue you mentioned.
I was also seeing Claude Code having intermittent issues with .git/index.lock, but CC was simply removing the lock file and proceeding. I didn't make the link with this status line.

FYI I'm not the creator or maintainer of this status line, just a regular user like you.
I forked the repo to make my own updates since the owner is not very reactive.
