Description
The section below needs to be expanded, and added to lecture 02 - From Bits to Qubits
Features of Quantum computers
To be expanded
Compare and Contrast with Classical Features
- entanglement - 2 Qubits can be connected in a way such that the description of one Qubit cannot be provided without the other qubit.
- No cloning - There doesn't exist a method to copy a set of arbitrary Quantum states from one wire to another
- Probabilistic
- reversibility
- superposition
Appendix
- Introduction as an abstract concept without mathematics (perhaps circles), maybe with an experiment like Mach-Zender/Stern Gerlach.
- A discussion on measurement and what is different.
- Can even discuss some gate actions (Paulis and Hadamard) on qubits.
- Discussion about what quantum properties such as coherence can add to computing (a thought experiment demonstrating Bell’s inequalities without mentioning them can be discussed here). Maybe the way to go is a light discussion like in this video.
