Error while installing RegCM-master

Dear Graziano,
getting the following error with 'make' in RegCM/master :

mod_kdtree2_priority.F90:200:17:

 res%elems => results_in
             1

Error: Assignment to contiguous pointer from non-contiguous target at (1)
make[2]: *** [Makefile:623: mod_kdtree2_priority.o] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory '/home/pantm/RegCM-master/Share'
make[1]: *** [Makefile:422: all-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory '/home/pantm/RegCM-master'
make: *** [Makefile:353: all] Error 2

I resolved it like:
I removed the contiguous attribute from the affected pointer declarations (or replaced direct pointer assignments with allocation/copy when needed).
After this change, the code compiled successfully, and RegCM was installed and ran fine.

Hi Manas. Can you provide information about the compiler/version you find the problem with? I cannot reproduce the error with gfortran/intel/nvidia compilers on the github master.

Thanks for the follow-up.

I encountered the issue while compiling on an HPC system using:

gcc (GCC) 8.2.1 20180905 (Red Hat 8.2.1-3)
gfortran 8.2.1
OpenMPI 3.1.4

The compilation failed with errors such as:

Error: Assignment to contiguous pointer from non-contiguous target

in files like mod_kdtree2.F90 and mod_clm_mkarbinit.F90.
