Can I edit books? #1735

I'm curious if there is a way to edit items in my library. Specifically, if I get a listing for any given book from OpenLibrary can I make changes after I add it to my library. If I pull Ralph Ellison's Invisible Man from OpenLibrary and then click Add to Collections > Owned, can I then make changes to the data of that item? Can I choose which cover of the dozens of covers displays for me? Can I edit the tags? Can I delete the blurb? Thank you so much for your time. Cheers! |

Yes, you can. Click on the collection name in the media item page and then click on the pencil icon to edit. For all other questions, the answer is no. Items from external sources can not be edited manually. This is done to prevent conflicts further down the line when, for eg, the user says the genre is Sci-Fi, but Openlibrary says is Romance.
