Sound issues with different sample rates #36
Description
On Windows (10) there is a glitch in Chocolate Descent resulting in a different sound interpolation in the game. There is a configuration window in the OS which allows for different sample rates (under sounds -> selected device -> properties -> advanced). On sample rates below 96khz everything (music & sound effects) sounds muffled and processed, on 96khz in sounds better but it is still not accurate. It seems there is a conflict between Windows' sound management and Chocolate Descent. I did a quick test on Linux and it seem the sound is played correctly but I didn't got deep into testing. Using DOSBOX the sound is correct. I'm using the Roland SC55 recorded soundtrack in Chocolate Descent and disabled any sound enhancement by Windows.
I've uploaded a zip file containing some seconds from the Lunar Scilab (level 2) music in 3 different sample rates and a original soundfile (played directly without Chocolate Descent):
