Description
The element an impulse channels is valuable information to know at a glance, as it determines which gates can use it and what junctions apply.
I propose that a visual action resource is created for each element, akin to how I've tagged Blood Magic effects with the sorcery point icon, and added to each impulse feat and action. This has several benefits, such as clicking on the resource icon in the hotbar to show all matching actions, and simplifying the sorting of composite impulses in the feat selector under a single "Composite" header rather than 21 or more.
Because I've coded Elemental Barbarian to be able to take impulses of other gates at level 10 with the Add Element feature, each impulse feat would need to provide its own resource like how focus spells add a resource.
