Landing pages for bibliography entries

Each bibliography entry should have a corresponding landing page, i.e. its own separate web page on the project site. This would enable a number of features and opportunities such as search engines finding and indexing the individual documents.

We discussed this in various occasions and in the April 9, 2025 external meeting agreed to create an issue to coordinate the work.

Order of entries appears to be reverse alphabetical, not what I desire, but the overall display look and feel is what interests me.

From the pull-down menus, selecting "Journal Publications" and the year 2024, I get the following:

With such a large bibliography, the ability to sort and group is nice.

The template has some extras at the bottom that need to be removed.

The Hugo theme this all comes from is called Hugo Blox. I don't want to migrate our website to it, but rather lift out the useful parts of their publication framework and create a separate package we can link into our collection of Hugo themes.

@stumbo, are the links to the pages for the individual documents (e.g., The Medley Interlisp Revival above) regular <a href="..."> links, so search engines can follow them and index the individual document pages?

Also, what is the purpose of the [URL] boxes in the lists? What do I click to arrive at an individual document page?

August 24, 2025 Progress Report:

While I like the pictures above excising the content to construct them from HugoBlox and integrating it into our Interlisp site is not straight forward. I took several steps back and instead put together a simple page, without all the bells and whistles, but it is a concrete step forward.

I've created a draft PR, Interlisp/Interlisp.github.io#295, that currently lists all the bibliography items in chronological order. Each entry contains the publication name, date, authors and a short snippet of the abstract. There is also a link that goes to the individual .md file for each entry.

I haven't implemented anything for showing an individual page so all you get right now is a blank screen.

This provides an initial proof of concept covering two main goals: a listing of all the bibliographic entries, where each entry is pulled from an individual page and a linking to that page. This will position us to have each bibliographic entry indexed and be searchable.

My current updates are live on the staging site. The updated bibliography currently exists as a page that is not linked into the current site and therefore can not be navigated to, but exists as a hidden link, publications.
