Use Quietnet as an actual network connection?

Seems like it should be possible to use Quietnet as an actual network connection between machines. Has anyone done this?

Theoretically you can create a tun/tap interface (with a small MTU will work better) and modify quitnet to receive and send data to this interface.

@Katee The project seems unmaintained. Any interest in merging the various PRs, and perhaps pulling in some changes from other forks to bring the code up to date?

I think it was more of a fun project for her to code, I think there are more robust and maintained projects out there - I can't remember the name. @webmaven
