Description
Description
GPaste appears to have a character limit of 258,399 for stored items. When attempting to paste an earlier copied item exceeding this limit, only a portion of the text is retained.
Steps to Reproduce
- Copy a very long text (exceeding 258,399 characters).
- Copy another text afterward.
- Attempt to paste the first copied item.
Actual Behavior
Only 258,399 characters of the previously copied item are pasted, truncating the rest.
Expected Behavior
GPaste should store and allow pasting of the entire copied item without truncation.
Environment
- GPaste Version: 45
- Operating System: Linux Mint 22.1 Cinnamon
- Cinnamon Version: 6.4.8
- Linux Kernel: 6.8.0-60-generic

There's another bug that I’m not sure warrants a separate issue, but I’ll include it here since it's closely connected.
When attempting to edit an entry and paste a very large amount of text
(in my case, trying to restore the truncated clipboard history by pasting the originally copied text),
the application freezes completely, requiring a force quit to recover.
