Application fails to launch on Windows 10 (Versions newer than v2.12.4)

What happened?

Stability Matrix does not launch at all starting from version v2.13.0 up to the latest v2.15.6 . When clicking the executable, literally nothing happens—no window opens, and no process remains active in the background.

The last known working version is v2.12.4. If I update a working v2.12.4 installation to any newer version via the built-in update feature, the application ceases to function again.

My operating system is Windows 10 Pro 22H2 (Build 19045)

1- Download Stability Matrix version v2.15.6 (or any version newer than v2.12.4).

2- Double-click the StabilityMatrix.exe.

3- Observe that the application fails to start/show any UI.

4- Alternatively: Open version v2.12.4, perform an in-app update, and the app will fail to launch after the update completes.

Relevant logs

No log files are generated because the application fails to initialize entirely. I checked the application folder and %AppData%, but no log entries or crash dumps were created.

Thanks for the detailed report! This is a known limitation related to the move to .NET 9 starting in v2.13.0.
.NET 9 enables CET (Control-flow Enforcement Technology) shadow stacks by default, and your Windows 10 build (19045) doesn't support it, which unfortunately results in the silent launch failure you're seeing (no crash, no logs, just nothing).

The fix here is to run Windows Update and make sure you're fully up to date. Build 19045 (22H2) is missing several OS-level features that modern .NET relies on. Getting current on Windows 10 updates should resolve this.

We won't be disabling CETCompat as it's an important security feature, but if updating isn't an option for you, v2.12.4 will continue to work as you've found.
