Unable to download checkpoints

What happened?

The latest version of Stability Matrix has developed a rather unusual problem.

Downloads for Lora's, etc., all work perfectly well, but if I attempt to download a checkpoint, the download counter jumps to 100% and stays there for the entire download, at which point it fails.

I have verified the model directory is correct and even did a fresh install, but I'm still seeing the same issue.

I should point out I am in the U.K so having to use a VPN, but this wasn't an issue before and still isn't with Lora's etc in Stability Matrix it only occurs with checkpoint models.

Your download failing is likely due to SSL/TLS errors when the tunnel changes which happens from time to time on the VPN provider end causing the stream to intermittently break and reform. This is being resolved in next version of SM with this fix (further details): #1574 which also adds a Retry function so dont have to go back to the model browser in the extreme case it still fails.

It tends to happen more with checkpoints cause of the file size and the time it takes to download greatly allowing chance the connection error happens during it, lora downloads tend to be quick cause of their size so dont see it hardly ever happen with it.
Note that this can still happen during package install/modification when its downloading large python modules or components, which is an entirely seperate system internally from this.

The download percentage being 100% is a separate inconsistent minor bug that has cropped up in the last version update or so. It doesn't always do it I've seen but the download still progresses as normal (separate network connection issue aside).

I noticed that if I disable Windows Defender for Stability Matrix, it can download the checkpoints, even when the progress bar stays at 100%.

Seems to be a recent SSL/TLS issue with Antivirus Apps and the VPN on large files in Stability Matrix (no issue with 500MB+ Lora's, though). As you mentioned, the issue creeps in with duration/file size.

But disabling AV for Stability Matrix during DL seems to resolve the DL failures.

I only use the VPN for Citivai-related content, due to the UK IP block.

Ah well it can happen regardless of av depending on your provider, I have it at the router level and use Linux (and happens on windows) on multiple machines. Got annoyed enough with it and submitted a workaround for SM with it something outside of its control
