ABOUT THE HAIKU PORT

Quick guide to build as of right now:

1. Clone this repo to Haiku's desktop, and rename the folder to be just "textadept".
2. Install Qt, iconv and ncurses development packages (you will need to enable them) from HaikuDepot.
3. Run the CMake commands in the terminal as described in the README.
4. The installation will actually be under build_dir/install/share/textadept, you can find the binary in there. They're also symlinked to build_dir/install/bin.

Some more information is in #2 . In short, for the HTML manuals you will also need to install discount and lua and specifically instruct CMake to build the html target, and you'll also have to install xdg-utils to allow Textadept to open them (all are in Haiku Depot).

If you want to add the icon to the exe to show in the deskbar, you can use the info here: https://discuss.haiku-os.org/t/adding-a-icon-to-my-app/16109/2

Use Icon-O-Matic to export the .hvif version, then add it as an attribute:

You can also add a entry to the deskbar menu by creating a link to wherever you stored the binary in ~/config/settings/deskbar/menu/ as per the guide here: https://www.haiku-os.org/docs/userguide/en/deskbar.html#deskbar-prefs

I haven't worked on the Haiku version for some time, and Haiku is behind in various ways which means I can't fix things (e.g. the HTML docs), but note that it's now pushed to the Haiku branch so I can contribute to the main project using this fork (github won't let me have multiple forks)
