At the moment there are a few things to fix:

• Get the path of the current running executable so we can run portably - see https://discuss.haiku-os.org/t/equivalent-to-proc-self-exe/14343 (Inkscape's patches look useful.)
• Closing the app normally makes Haiku think it terminated abnormally.
• In the terminal version, the opened file's string is not being passed or processed correctly, "bad argument 3 to string.iconv"
• HTML docs are not being generated/installed correctly. Maybe due to CMake having no rules for Haiku.
• Check keybindings - for some reason in Haiku pressing ctrl and shift together undoes the shift. You can actually see this happening in the keymap app settings. I've been unable to test several keybindings dues to this, however the menu entries and run palette do work.

For anyone who's following or finds this (and also for my records), it seems the process of making the install grab it's own path for portability has got rid of the terminated abnormally errors too. Two for one!

The HTML docs can't be fully generated because ldoc isn't available as a package on Haiku yet (although I think it can be installed via luarocks). Running the script does make the html files though.

OK the reason docs aren't opening is because xdg-utils aren't installed by default, but can be obtained via haiku-depot, and then works it works fine. I think it's better expect an end user to install xdg-utils than hard program them to open in WebPositive (Geany does this). Still need to fix the generation.

"bad argument 3 to string.iconv" is being caused because _CHARSET is nil, as the Haiku terminal has none of the expected environment variables.

Apparently depending on such variables is poor form on Haiku: https://discuss.haiku-os.org/t/environment-variables-behavior-on-haiku/10454

At the moment a simple _CHARSET = 'UTF-8' (or whatever charset you have) in your init.lua can fix this.

From what I've seen, Haiku always uses UTF-8 internally (and has done since BeOS) so hard coding it shouldn't be too much of a issue.

So for whatever reason the HTML docs aren't built by default, but they can be generated with CMake by forcing the build target:

cmake -S . -B build_dir -D CMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=RelWithDebInfo \
	-D CMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=build_dir/install -DGENERATE_HTML=ON

cmake --build build_dir -j --target html

Which will then be installed as usual:
cmake --install build_dir

I think this is OK to leave as is, so another to tick off :)

The latest commits fix the keybindings for the GUI version. Haiku seems happy to handle the shift key itself so it doesn't need disabled.

This means some of the keybindings are defined differently, but are actually the same key presses.

e.g. ctrl+alt+_ is the same as ctrl+alt+shift+-, but Haiku needs it defined as the latter.

There's still an issue with 105 keyboards with UK keymap - the extra key on the left doesn't get interpreted correctly. I think this is a Qt on Haiku thing as Kate behaves the same, allowing the key into the buffer despite the modifiers being pressed. Native and GTK apps like Koder, Pe and Geany don't do this and the modifiers (while unbound) prevent the character being 'typed'.

In the terminal version, you must enable the meta key:

Use left Option as Meta key if you work with certain UNIX software that relies on accessing an extended portion of the ASCII character set, like e.g. GNU Emacs and the GNU readline library.

With this enabled keybindings work great for the terminal version - no 105 key issues, just respects the keymap. (Although meta is the super key on Haiku)

The more I test the more borked the keybindings seem!
All the enclose ones don't work right. The fix from before breaks captilised ones like ctrl+shift+f

So this needs more work
