Mending will not be added since this is supposed to be old Minecraft. Unless you make your own mod with the source code.

This, and I can't imagine Mending would be a hard enchant to recreate, since it's just a matter of iterating through items with the enchantment whenever an XP orb is picked up, seeing if any item has Mending, and then modifying the durability as expected.

From what I understand, the point of this project is to recreate vanilla LCE piece by piece. The proper way of doing it is to follow the same steps that were taken in LCE, that's what MCLCE does by targeting TU24 (the starting point was TU19). Mending wasn't added until years later.

It's all literally outlined in the BACKPORTING.md file that I linked above.
