[Bug] breaking blocks slowly lags the block and leaves a shadow behind

Bug description

breaking a block with the wrong tool (example: dirt with hand) will sometimes cause it to bug. It stays for a split second and then leaves a shadow behind.

To Reproduce

1. Place a block (dirt)
2. Destroy the block slowly in any way (hands)
3. Block sometimes stays for a split second and leaves a shadow.

Expected behavior

The block should disappear instantly and the shadow shouldn't be there anymore.
