Production Factories
The WorkShop is the most basic production factory and allows production of iron tools (no weapons or armour). It is built from Clay brick and Smoothstone brick and fuelled inefficiently by charcoal. It is much more efficient if powered by a dedicated power building. The associated villager eats small amounts of a basic food and is not critical to production.
The Mossycobble Manufactory is the first dedicated tech factory, in the sense that it makes mossy cobble which is only useful for building other buildings and as an input for higher tech items.
It requires Claybrick, Smoothstone Brick, and Diamond blocks (8) to be built. It does not work without power and requires a lot of power to work at full capacity. The associated villager eats large amounts of a difficult to acquire/combo food.
