Description

Writers should have the ability to link sounds and music to their paragraphs inside stories.

The idea is to allow users to listen to music/ambience that is tied to a scene while they're reading a writer's story. Writers will be able to associate audio clips with lines (or an entire block) via a simple <audio> tag.

Audio will be divided into three categories:

  • Music
  • Soundscape (ambience)
  • Clips (Voicelines, sound effects, etc)

There will be two modes of play that users can opt into, Active and Automatic:

  • Active: Let users play audio clips manually by pressing buttons.
  • Automatic: Will have to be manually enabled by the writer, will treat the entire story as an audiobook.

When in automatic mode, sounds will automatically play in order; with clips being prioritized first in the play order before moving onto the next sounds.

Music and Soundscape can be configured to crossfade between in each other in automatic mode.

When Clips are being played, the text that is associated with it will be outlined.
