Windows 11 force setting task in background, low priority #11

I recently updated to Windows 11 and I’m having issues with running this python job in anaconda.

I have a conda environments to run different this package. The issue is that after some time, Windows11 puts these tasks on backburner mode, and CPU usage does down to almost nothing. The CPU only goes back up if I click on the anaconda prompt window and press “enter” (see screenshot, CPU usage went back up after I interacted with the conda prompt window).

CPU_stop

What I’ve tried:

  • Put the sleep settings on my computer to “never”, but that didn’t help,
  • Setting python to “high priority” in the task manager, which has fixed the issue when I am working at the computer on other tasks. But overnight the CPU usage drops down again.

Do you have any ideas on how to troubleshoot this?

Thanks a lot,
