Update Core Redis to 8.2 #7676
Description
Starting from version 7.4 up to 7.8, Redis is distributed under a dual license that is not OSI-compatible. Upgrading from 7.2 to 7.4 introduces both licensing and database compatibility challenges.
The current Redis 7.2 version will reach EOL in February 2026.
Proposed solution
Since Redis 8.0, a third OSI-compliant AGPLv3 license has been added. An official upgrade path to Redis Open Source 8.2 is documented at: https://redis.io/docs/latest/operate/oss_and_stack/install/upgrade/standalone/
Alternative solution
Consider upgrading to an OSI-compatible alternative such as Valkey, licensed under BSD-3-Clause.
