Test/Normal modes

Introduce distinct test and normal modes in the application. This allows for isolated logging, data storage, and configuration management, ensuring that testing activities do not affect production data or runtime behavior.

The issues listed here were already resolved in a previous branch fix/elham/code-cleanup.
This branch fix/issue-29 contains additional work, so please verify that these fixes remain intact.
