Trouble with Rig control via Hamlib #75
Description
QSSTV: V9.5.11
Hamlib: Hamlib 4.6.4 2025-07-18T18:23:23Z SHA=59e3d1 64-bit
OS: LMDE 6 64 bit
Linux hp-sfdt 6.1.0-42-amd64 #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Debian 6.1.159-1 (2025-12-30) x86_64 GNU/Linux
Physical System is based on an Intel 4 core CPU, with 8G of RAM.
Built from source without error, linking with (as far as I know) QT5 libs. Confirmed, I think.
dave@hp-sfdt:~$ qmake -version
QMake version 3.1
Using Qt version 5.15.8 in /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu
Issue.
Without any rig control, it all works very well. (Analogue SSTV only, I don't use the DRM modes.)
But, with rig control setup and configured, each time it "polls" the radio, the on screen UI "Stall's" for some seconds. Waterfall and decoding. It all continues in the background, but the overall experience is very poor as a result.
It also appears to have issue reading the VFO frequency from the radio. WSJTx (and others) using the same Hamlib libraries have no issue working with the TS-870s.
I don't know enough about the QT stuff to even begin to debug this. I dare not let it transmit either (rig control is needed here for that!)
Any further info wanted, or trials done, just let me know. I'll check back here in due course.
Dave G8KBV.
